Frequently Asked Questions
What is Children Helping Children, Intl?
Children Helping Children Intl (CHCI) is a Columbus-based non-profit organization designed to involve American children with helping underprivileged children around the world.
What is the mission of the organization?
-
To enrich the lives of American children by involving them in helping underprivileged children around the world;
-
To educate American children about the plight of children worldwide, orphaned by wars, disease and poor economic conditions;
-
To provide global assistance and relief to orphaned children worldwide by supplying them with fleece blankets hand-made by the American children as a part of our International "Blankids" campaign;
-
To create awareness among orphaned children that they are not forgotten—that there are other children in the world who care about them.
How do American children become involved in CHCI?
CHCI works with public and private schools in Metropolitan Columbus as well as various local youth groups. We offer hands-on experience for local children to help orphaned children around the world in a tangible and meaningful way, specifically, by making fleece blankets. We provide fleece fabric for participating schools and guidance on how to produce no-sew blankets. To enroll your school or youth group, please email us at info@chcintl.org, or call (614) 657-4501.
How many children have you helped?
In our two years, we have involved over 1,000 middle school children in making blankets as a part of our international “Blankids” campaign. The blankets produced by participating children were successfully delivered to children living in orphanages in the country of Georgia.
